About the book...
Sun, sea and a sexy stranger - a whole lot of fun just got a lot more complicated. Capable, confident and career-driven, Ellen had her dream job and a marriage proposal from boyfriend Ross. Life was good, her future set. Until it wasn’t and everything fell apart… Whisked off to the beautiful island of Corfu to plan her sister Lacey’s big, fat, Greek wedding, Ellen is hoping some time out will help clear her head and heal her heart. But letting go of her past is not going to be easy. With Lacey in full on Bridezilla mode, Ellen is soon distracted from her own problems. And when the all-inclusive treats on offer at hotel Blue Vue include one gorgeous, brooding Adonis – Yan – Ellen finds him difficult to resist. But Ellen isn’t looking for love or lust, or anything involving too much ouzo…or is she?

Fans of Lucy Diamond, Miranda Dickinson and Lindsey Kelk will want to escape to Corfu with Mandy Baggot this summer.

My thoughts...
I've followed Mandy on twitter for  long time and when I saw the gorgeous cover and read the synopsis for Truly, Madly, Greekly I knew I had to read this book.  Charlotte from Candlelit tours was looking for tour hosts so I waved my cocktail madly and was lucky enough to be included.

Nothing is ever as straight forward as it first seems.  Two sisters, Ellen and Lacey have headed to the Blue Vue hotel on the beautiful island of Corfu to check out the hotel and facilities as a potential wedding venue for Lacey's forth coming nuptials.

Things don't get off to a very good start for the sisters.  They arrived at the hotel late at night and their first encounter had Ellen thinking they were about to be robbed of their luggage - needless to say they weren't, Yan - a member of the hotel's animation team (the gorgeous hunk from Albania) was only trying to help carry their bags.

I quickly formed opinions of the leading ladies, just as Yan did too.   Ellen was uptight, prim, seemingly distracted and addicted to work, unable to switch off, despite the perfect surroundings.  Whereas, Lacey was like a child in a sweet shop, excited, giddy and a little out of control.

Ellen and Lacey appeared to be as different as chalk and cheese but both were strong willed and more than a little bit stubborn.  Both had secrets they were keeping from each other, their family and us the readers.  Mandy took us on a hilarious journey, fuelled by 'Apricot Coollers', sun, sea and a persistent animation team. Just writing these words, transports me back there, so vivid is Mandy's story telling, I'm laying beside the pool, slurping my apricot cooler as the sun beats down out of the china blue sky. HEAVEN!!

This is a perfect holiday read that is not just funny, although I did snort out loud on more than one occasion!  It is also a book about discovery, trust, friendships and new beginnings. Mandy's observations, through the eyes of both the sisters, other guests and the animation team was so smack on - anyone who has visited an all inclusive hotel will be able to relate to this brilliant story and will be able to see people or situations they know or have experienced within it.  It really is amazing how simple things like sunshine, alcohol on tap and being away from your usual environment lowers inhibitions and alters characters sometimes beyond recognition. Corfu gave both Ellen and Lacey time to reflect, to discover what made each of them tick, what they wanted out of life and it helped to develop a more evenly balanced relationship between the two of them.

I think it's fair to say we all need a bit of escapism, somewhere to relax and unwind and I can think of no better place than at the Blue Vue Hotel, Corfu with Truly, Madly, Greekly.  Thank you to Mandy for writing this fab book and to her publisher Bookouture for this review copy.
